About the project

The “Łączą nas góry” (“Mountains connect us”) project consist of a series of mountain trips for kids with physical disabilities. We created this project because we believe that mountains are for everyone!

On the mountain trail everyone is equal to nature or other people. Therefore, mountain tourism is one of the forms of rehabilitation that allows you to focus on opportunities, not limitations. During summer we use the potential of mountains to shape the strength of character and increase motivation, but also to create a community based on shared passions and experiences. Experiencing mountains together is intended to help disabled children increase their self-esteem, gain self-confidence and focus on setting their own goals, recognising their potential and, above all, believing in their own abilities.

In Lower Silesia there are already good conditions for tourism for people with disabilities. Many of the mountain trails in the Suche, the Izera and the Owl Mountains are already adapted to the needs of people with physical disabilities. However, this does not mean that using them is easy for these people. It requires special equipment that is expensive and difficult to access. As part of the “Łączą nas góry” project we want to overcome these barriers together and share our love for mountains with others. Thanks to the support from the Department of Public Benefit Fund for the horizon 2014-2020, we can also provide the necessary equipment and support for professionals.

What are our plans for 2019?

5 trips for the beneficiaries of the social welfare home in Świebodzice and 5 trips for families with children with physical disabilities – all residents of the Świdnica and Wrocław districts.

UPDATE: additional tour dates thanks to the PZU Group!

As part of the “Help is Power – PZU social responisibilty” campaign, we have received a grant, thanks to which we can offer additional trips for both private families and social welfare homes beneficiaries.

Trips with private families will be held at the Piece in Rudawy Janowickie on the following dates: August 31, September 15 and September 22.

The SWH beneficiaries will go to the mountains on two additional dates: September 13th and September 20th.
