Loneliness is growing silently. Sometimes it affects seniors, sometimes the sick, and sometimes young people who simply feel lost. Our campaign was created to remind us that the simplest remedy is the presence of another person – a conversation, a smile, a shared moment with a book.

That's why this December we invite you to intimate readings inspired by the novel "Before the Coffee Gets Cold." We read short excerpts and then simply spend time together: listening, talking, sharing what's important.

This is a moment to pause in this fast-paced world—both for those listening and for ourselves. If this feels like something you'd like to contribute to, we cordially invite you! You can come, listen, or even join in the reading.

December meeting dates:

  • 12/12, 1:00 p.m. – Cafe Łukowa
  • December 15, 4:00 p.m. – Municipal Public Library
  • 17/12, 14:00 – Detention Center
  • 18/12, 11:00 – Intercultural Cafe, Rynek 39–40

More information about this campaign can be found on the website: https://ladnehistorie.pl/zanim-wystygnie-kawa/

Our campaign is, above all, an invitation to open up to others – to look around, to see those who may need conversation, presence, a moment of attention.

If you would like to join us or are looking for volunteering opportunities, please contact the Świdnica Volunteer Center:

The project was created as a result of cooperation between the Ładne Historie Foundation, the Świdnica Cultural Centre, the Centre for Supporting Non-Governmental Initiatives, the Municipal Public Library in Świdnica and the University of the Third Age.

The campaign was organized as part of the "Świdnica for Volunteering" project (2024–2026), co-financed by the "Partnership for Volunteering. 2024 Edition" program within the Solidarity Corps – the Government Program for Support and Development of Systematic Volunteering 2018–2030
