On October 25th, we cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Communities – Stories of People, Places, and Objects"! The exhibition, which you can see this fall on the ground floor of Pasaż Grunwaldzki, is one of the results of meetings between archivists working with memory and identity in Wrocław and the surrounding area.

The exhibition will be on view until November 15, 2025, during the shopping center's opening hours (Monday–Sat. 9:00 AM–9:00 PM). The exhibition presents portraits of 11 people from Wrocław and the surrounding area. Each person tells the story of a single, chosen object—an object that carries history, emotion, and meaning. These are stories about people who collect and preserve memories—they could be called collectors, storytellers, researchers, and archivists. They demonstrate that an object only gains value when someone gives it meaning and uncovers its hidden narrative. "Communities" is a mosaic of voices, memories, and places that reveals the city's history from a different, neighborly perspective. This is an exhibition about memory, about how objects and stories connect us in a shared history.

The program of the opening:

  • viewing the boards and learning about the history of archivists,
  • workshops related to memory and local memories,
  • meetings and conversations with people involved in creating social archives.

We would like to thank Pasaż Grunwaldzki for providing the exhibition space and supporting the idea of disseminating local stories and memories.

The project "Communities: Libraries Build Micro-Communities" is implemented in partnership: Tadeusz Różewicz Municipal Public Library in Wrocław, Fundacja Ładne Historie, Nowy Pafawag Cultural Center.
