This year's summer at the skatepark kicked off on June 17th with the launch of the "Summer in the Backyard" program. On that day, the residents of Świdnica gathered in a place that became the heart of urban sports for several months. There were activities, competitions, fun activities, and the first attempts at scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades – the atmosphere at the opening clearly indicated that this was going to be a busy season.

Over the following weeks, from June to August, there was 25 workshop meetings. The workshops were held regularly, twice a week, and when the weather was unfavorable, we sought new dates to avoid interrupting the entire series. A total of 1,000 people participated in the workshops. 340 people – children, teenagers and those who wanted to try street sports for the first time.

During this time, the skatepark was more than just a training ground. It became a space for exchanging experiences, acquiring new skills, and, above all, building relationships. Participants not only developed their skills and technique but also learned patience, cooperation, and mutual support. This strengthened the skatepark's character as an open, safe, and youth-friendly space.

This experience shows how important activities that combine sport, culture and social integration are. The Świdnica skatepark is alive and you can see that it is very important and very necessary for the residents.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this year's season – participants, presenters, partners (Impowoods, Electrolux) and everyone who supported us from the sidelines. We ended the year feeling that together we had created something valuable that will be remembered for a long time.

See you next season!

The activity was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and by the Municipality of Świdnica.
