On November 19, the International Day for the Prevention of Violence against Children, the "Wrocław Without Violence" campaign was launched. Together with the City of Wrocław and local social organizations, we remind people about what sexual violence is and how to respond to it.

A pink pillow with a dent in the center sits against a gray background. Beneath it is a large pink inscription reading "Safety begins with my consent." Beneath it is the message: "Sexual violence is any sexual activity undertaken without the consent of another person." At the bottom are the logos: Wrocław – City of Meetings, Wrocław Without Violence, Ładne Historie (Nice Stories), and information about the "Wrocław Without Violence 2025" campaign, funded by the Municipality of Wrocław.

The campaign's slogan, "Safety starts with my consent," aims to raise awareness of how widely ignored the issue of sexual violence is by society. Sexual violence is still considered taboo in many communities. Each of us can and should take action!

That's why education and a clear message are so important: the perpetrator is always responsible for violence, and consent must be conscious, voluntary, and clearly expressed. If someone says they have experienced violence, let's respond calmly and without judgment – let's listen, provide support, and ensure their safety. Such responses truly matter!

Want to support this year's campaign? Hang a poster or distribute an informational flyer (you can find them in your neighborhoods, at schools, community centers, libraries, etc.) to people who might need your support!

The campaign aims to strengthen the sense of security of Wrocław's residents by identifying available support options and preparing specialists and community workers to provide professional, supportive assistance. Remember that there are many different sources of support available to victims or witnesses of violence:

  • 512 198 939 – 24-hour hotline for people experiencing domestic violence (MOPS Wrocław);
  • 800 12 00 02 – „Blue Line”, 24/7; assistance also in Ukrainian and English;
  • 800 70 22 22 – Telephone Support Center, 24/7; on-call staff include psychologists, psychiatrists, lawyers, therapists, and others;
  • 888 88 33 88 – anti-violence hotline for women, open Mon-Fri 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. (Feminoteka Foundation) Help in Ukrainian and Russian: 888 88 79 88, Mon-Fri 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.;

Let's remember: no one has to face violence alone. Wrocław has a network of professional, free help. Take advantage of it and share the information. Together, we are creating a city based on care, mindfulness, and mutual respect!
