Respite trips

From 2021, in addition to Sunday trips as part of the Góry Łączą nas (Games Connect Us) program, we also organize respite trips For Moms and Dads - for families with children with disabilities.

 

During such trips, there are many opportunities for conversation, even on difficult topics related to health, finances, or lack of time. One theme emerged and recurred in every conversation with our participants: the need for rest and self-care. Parents of children with disabilities struggle with chronic fatigue, often devoting all their time to caring for them.

 

The greatest value of such trips is the opportunity to meet and listen to parents of children with disabilities, who are rarely talked about in the context of social exclusion, and to observe how they can enjoy time spent together as a family in convenient, friendly conditions, receiving help.

  • The first „Expedition for Strong Women”, full of emotion and outbursts of joy, which we were able to go on thanks to the support granted by the Feminist Fund, took place in 2021.

     

    The participants included the mothers of the project participants, both male and female, whom we met on the mountain trail, the girls from our foundation, and a group of energetic and warm-hearted physiotherapy graduates who supported us by providing respite care during the trip.

     

    Walks and meals together, sound baths, pool fun, but above all, time for important conversations and space to hear and understand each other. Together we are strong!

     

    We would like to thank the project coordinator, Sylwia Świerczyńska, for her great heart in organizing the exhibition, Blue Mountain Resort, Anna Ropiecka and Zahi Zahiwji for supporting us in creating a magical atmosphere, and Kalina Żaczek (I click and I disappear) for the beautiful photos!

     

    And most of all, we thank you, dear participants, for your trust! You inspire us every day!

     

  • In 2022, for the second time, thanks to the support of the Feminist Fund, we were able to invite more wonderful participants to the Strong Women's Expedition.

     

    Szklarska Poręba is slowly becoming a favorite meeting place for our heroines – the mothers and their wonderful children. The days spent together were filled with meetings, conversations, and emotional moments, interspersed with dance and music workshops, walks, and poolside play with the children.

     

    We would like to thank our heroines for their presence and trust – the mothers and their children, the wonderful women who led the workshops: Elżbieta Wilk and Julia Lewandowska, the caregivers full of commitment and positive madness (Karolina, Julia, Marysia, Ala and Kamila) and the Blue Mountain Resort hotel, where we were treated like royalty.

  • In 2022, the first respite trip for fathers in the history of our Foundation took place!

     

    Thanks to the support of the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and funds collected during a fundraiser organized together with Szybkie Podróże (zrzutka.pl/pn5ks9) we had the opportunity to spend time together, catch our breath and think about further joint activities.

    In beautiful natural surroundings, enjoying the mountain air, we spent wonderful moments, caught our breath, and listened to each other. Thank you for wonderful days!

     

    We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our expedition partner, the Spichlerz Kultury Foundation, and the staff at Blue Mountain Resort for their hospitality. We truly felt cared for during these few days!

     

  • Thanks to the funds collected during the collection organized together with Szybkie Podróże (zrzutka.pl/pn5ks9) another respite for fathers took place on April 23-25, 2023.

     

  • Another relaxing trip for moms is behind us. Even the rainy weather didn't stop us from relaxing. Conversations and workshops filled our time in the mountains. Thank you, moms, for your openness and sharing your experiences. You are wonderful!

     

    The trip was financed by the Feminist Fund and funds from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund – a state earmarked fund.

    In Szklarska Poręba, five mothers of children with disabilities enjoyed a moment of respite, relaxation, and renewed energy during workshops. Thank you for your trust, openness, and willingness to share your experiences. You're amazing!
