The "Future Written by Family" project will be implemented in Świdnica from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2027. The starting point for its development was the assumption that people are not determined by environmental conditions, as they have the ability to change them by leveraging their own strengths, those of their families, their environment, and their support systems. By utilizing the activities planned in the project, project participants will enhance their own and individual family members' competencies and skills in social functioning.
The Świdnica project was written based on The "Winning Family" model for strengthening social capital„, and will be financed entirely from external funds in the amount of PLN 2,677,326.50. The Municipal Social Welfare Center in Świdnica is responsible for its implementation, the Center's partner is the "Ładne Historie" Foundation.
The project targets 15 families with children (up to 18 years of age) experiencing caregiving and parenting challenges and facing generational social exclusion. All families will receive support from a family assistant and numerous other specialists, including psychologists, educators, therapists, and facilitators. The support provided by the project is diverse and includes workshop blocks, individual consultations, facilitation activities, community events, family outings, and art therapy.
Support will cover key areas for families raising children and youth: family communication, mental health education and future planning for children and youth, career counseling, self-esteem, talent development for children and youth, care and upbringing, addiction prevention, financial education, and more. Events will also be organized that impact the immediate living environment of families participating in the project. Individualized yet comprehensive family support will be provided in collaboration with local government entities and non-governmental organizations as part of the Local Support System (LSW).
The System being created will be a response to the lack of comprehensive actions and innovative solutions for families struggling with generational problems of poverty, social exclusion, and being unprepared to properly perform care and educational functions. The establishment of the LSW is an extremely important task that will continue even after its completion. It involves engaging as many entities as possible working to support families in need and improving cooperation between these entities., will ensure that the model is implemented into practice in the local environment for years to come.
Families eligible for the Project will reside in the central part of Świdnica, an area identified by the Revitalization of Degraded Areas program as experiencing a decline in social and physical well-being. It encompasses 82 streets (street names are provided in the appendix).
By participating in the Project, the family will improve its standard of living and the children raised in it will have a better start in adult life.
