What projects will we implement together in our city in the coming months? Bicycle tours through the green spaces of Jarnołtów? Handicraft workshops at Jagodno? Intercultural meetings in Osobowice? The first call for applications for Microgrants this year begins next month, allowing Wrocław residents to once again implement their ideas for social initiatives.

Microgrants is a citywide program supporting grassroots initiatives that has been operating in Wrocław for many years. Every resident of Wrocław can submit their proposals for activities in the field of animation, recreation, social activation, education, art and all kinds of culture-creating activities.

More than half a million zlotys will be allocated to carry out over a hundred projects.

"In the new year, residents will have the entire spring and early summer to implement the project. We can't wait to hear the full range of new ideas from those who will soon begin consulting with us on their initiatives.". – announce the program coordinators.

Traditionally, there will be three recruitment rounds per year (February 1–15, May 1–15 and September 1–15), where you can submit ideas in three ways: for individuals and informal groups, For non-governmental organizations and for youth groups. Regardless of the path you choose or the type of project you choose, we'll help you ensure the necessary infrastructure and safe operating conditions. With us, you can begin your adventure with local activism, working with community leaders. We encourage you to bring your ideas to life in our city!

Three paths to choose from

Microgrants for individuals (including those running a business) and informal groups he has been running since last year Wrocław Institute of Culture – a new municipal institution was established in 2022, dealing with the development of social, animation, research, and competence projects. The path led by WIK is aimed at adult residents of Wrocław, who are often just beginning their adventure with project activities for the benefit of their immediate neighborhood. Just like last year, this year, the following projects will be implemented: 40 initiatives for local activities. Selected projects from four areas (Fabryczna, Krzyki, Psie Pole, Śródmieście) will receive financial support (5 thousand zlotys gross) and assistance in administrative, organizational, promotional and logistical matters.

Initiatives in the other two paths will be led by Umbrella Foundation One of them is the Youth Microgrants program – the upcoming call for proposals offers a chance for the youngest project implementers to debut. Ideas submitted by groups of people aged 13 to 21 will receive support up to thousand zlotys gross. In this path, approximately 30 initiatives that will allow young people to test their skills in local activities. The second path run by the Umbrella Foundation is NGO Microgrants. These will be co-financed with amounts from 5 to 10 thousand PLN gross and will also receive support in administrative and promotional matters. In addition to NGOs operating for up to 5 years, older ones, whose revenue for the last closed financial year did not exceed PLN 3,000 gross, are also invited to participate. This path is planned to include: about 20 initiatives throughout the year.

We encourage you to get out into your backyards and neighborhoods and observe the activities and needs of Wrocław's residents! This is a great time for a variety of intergenerational and intercultural activities. We look forward to your ideas. from February 1 to 15!
