The Wrocław Cinema Cooperative continues its journey through urban neighborhoods, which interestingly reflect the theme of this year's screenings – "Small Homelands." On June 26th, we'll be visiting Plac Grunwaldzki for the third time. This time, we'll explore the Clinics – a place legendary in the city and held in high regard for its healing properties.

„"Small homelands" is a slogan that has been gaining popularity again in Poland in recent years. Neighborhood communities are also strengthening in Wrocław, hence our choice of theme for this year. On the last Wednesday of June, we visit Plac Grunwaldzki, where the Cooperative has been hosting for the third year in a row thanks to its collaboration with the Ładne Historie Foundation. This time, as part of the event, we will visit one of the architectural gems of this area – the Clinics, managed by Uniwersytet Medyczny im. Piastów Śląskich in Wrocław.
Each event has its own unique characteristics. In this case, we've divided the evening into two parts: at 7:00 PM, we'll begin with a tour of the Clinics grounds. The tour will be available to the first 25 people who book admission to the event. The tour will be led by Artur Miściorak, an employee of the University Clinical Hospital and a fan of the Clinics. At 8:30 PM, we'll begin with a film screening. This will be a selection of winners from the 9th SPEKTRUM Film Festival in Świdnica, four different titles from around the world. The first two ("Heat" by Klaudia Fortuniak and "Escape from the Town" by Hubert Górski) will be presented in the university hall, where we will also meet the director Hubert Górski live, and if the weather allows, the next two shorts ("Uncle Vakho's Dream" by Joanna Roj, "Ramboy" by Matthias Joualad and Lucien Roux) will be shown outdoors in greenery and surrounded by charming architecture.
The initiative – known as the Ołbin Cinema Cooperative – was launched six years ago. Over the years, we began exploring neighboring neighborhoods – Nadodrze and Plac Grunwaldzki – with the goal of offering film screenings to explore local nooks and crannies and to connect new residents of these areas. Since 2024, the Cinema Cooperative has operated under the "Wrocław" banner and has been visiting five neighborhoods that serve as examples of small homelands for others. As part of the project, we are visiting Przedmieście Oławskie, Tarnogaj, Plac Grunwaldzki, Szczepin, and Ołbin.
PLEASE NOTE: The number of places is limited, so we invite only those who reserve a place by sending an email with the subject "COOPERATIVE" to the email address rezerwacje@wrocff.com.pl. These individuals will receive details on how to participate in the event.
