This year marked the ninth edition of our flagship project, "Summer in the Backyard," an initiative that has been providing Świdnica's youngest residents with unique summer experiences for years. These activities are primarily aimed at children spending their summers in the city, but our activities within this project are not limited to just the youngest. With older residents and families with children in mind, we have created a cultural offering that is becoming increasingly popular each year.
In particular, it's worth mentioning our summer series "Cinema on Blankets," which we organize in collaboration with the Wrocław Film Foundation. These outdoor screenings have become a fixture in Świdnica's summer calendar, and thanks to them, we can offer residents not only a cinematic experience but also an opportunity to spend time together in a friendly and informal atmosphere. This year, we organized three screenings, which were enthusiastically received and attracted record audiences.

On Zarzecze Estate We presented a touching Polish production, "A Dog Who Ridden a Railway," which touched the hearts of both young and old viewers. Zawiszowie we moved to the magical world of "The Memoirs of Moominpappa", and on The Youth Housing Estate A screening of "A Film for Aliens" took place – a unique and thoughtful film that brought smiles to the faces of everyone present. We are especially pleased that each of these screenings attracted a larger audience than the previous one, confirming that outdoor cinema has become a permanent fixture in the hearts of Świdnica residents.

Our "Cinema on Blankets" isn't just about film, though—it's primarily about meetings that foster interpersonal relationships. As a Foundation, we've been striving for years to create projects that promote values like neighborly solidarity, empathy, and friendship. Seeing how many people attend our screenings each year—whether entire families, groups of friends, or neighbors—we're convinced that our efforts have a real impact on the integration of the local community.

The turnout at each screening is proof that the need for shared encounters and cultural experiences remains strong in Świdnica. Our mission – organizing events that bring people together, regardless of age or interests – is realized every day in simple yet beautiful moments spent together. Thank you for being with us and creating this incredible atmosphere.

We are delighted to see "Kino na Kocach" grow each year, and we hope it will continue to serve the residents of Świdnica for many years to come. We thank everyone who supports our work, and especially the Wrocław Film Foundation for their cooperation, and Electrolux, whose volunteers traditionally treated everyone to delicious popcorn.
We are proud to be able to implement such projects and continue to build local communities through culture.
The project is financed from the budget of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Government and from a donation from Electrolux.
