We have some good news for you, and we can now officially share it! Our project, "Osiedle dla klimat – archiwe czyli rezerwowego plac Grunwaldzkiego" ("Climate Estate – Archive of the Material Heritage of Grunwaldzki Square"), is part of activities supported by the National Reconstruction Plan (KPO). The aim of this project is to combine local cultural heritage with environmental protection, and to engage the residents of Grunwald, Wrocław, in collaborative efforts in the field of digital community archiving. This year, we will fulfill our dream of expanding our activities around your neighborhood memories!

The National Recovery Plan (KPO) aims to strengthen social cohesion and ecological and digital transformation. Our project aligns perfectly with these priorities. Through a series of activities involving the local community, we aim to strengthen environmental awareness while simultaneously preserving the local heritage, which is a key element of our identity. The project will be implemented in the spirit of sustainable development and equal opportunities, ensuring accessibility for all, including people with disabilities.

As part of the project, we implement:

  • Family educational walk for children and youth, which will show young children how the physical heritage of a neighborhood (e.g., buildings, squares, and other public spaces) interacts with nature and what actions can be taken to enhance nature's presence in urbanized spaces. This is important to understand how architecture can interact with the ecosystem and support sustainable development.
  • Two meetings on hydrobotanical cultivation, in which we will learn how to use special flower pots to support the growth of plants in urban spaces, reducing water consumption and supporting biodiversity.
  • Two workshops on social archiving, in which we will learn together the secrets of a well-designed social archive.
  • Collecting stories and memories from the estate's residents. We want everyone who feels connected to Grunwaldzki Square to have the opportunity to share their memories. We will allow you to submit places that are particularly important to you, connected to family history, everyday life, as well as natural monuments and green spaces in the estate. All collected stories, photos, and narratives will be documented in a digital community archive.
  • Publication of three columns on the relationship between material heritage, architecture and ecology, which will appear on the website www.placgrunwaldzki.com.
  • Modernization of the neighborhood website.

We foster environmental awareness and local cultural identity, connecting the past with the future to make Plac Grunwaldzki a better place to live.
