„"Civic Workshop – Green Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA" is a two-year project being implemented by Fundacja Ładne Historie in the Plac Grunwaldzki housing estate in Wrocław. Our goal is to engage representatives of the local community – those living, working, or studying in Grunwald – in collaborative efforts to improve the quality and usability of our estate's public spaces. The project is framed by the estate's resilience to the negative effects of climate change – we want Plac Grunwaldzki to be a green, sustainable, and welcoming space for its residents.

Following the "Local Activity Center" and the "Children and Youth Development and Activity Center," the workshop is another project we are implementing in the neighborhood under the joint brand Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA. We want to engage local leaders of all ages in the project's activities – our working group includes students at Grunwald, adults and families with children, as well as seniors who, like us, believe that public space is a common good!

Do you, like us, want to see more green spaces around us? Are you committed to creating spaces that foster integration and deepen neighborly relationships? Do you also believe that Plac Grunwaldzki needs to have its sidewalks leveled and shaded mini-gardens created? Join our working group on Grunwaldzki Green Square and, together with students from Wrocław universities, learn how we can transform the space around us!

What do you need to do to join us?

Simply submit your application by completing the short form available at the link below: bit.ly/REKRUTACJAzielonaGRUPAroboczaGRUNWALD

You don't have to be an adult or have a strong understanding of ecology, climate change, or urban infrastructure. You just need to be a resident of the Plac Grunwaldzki estate (or surrounding downtown neighborhoods) and willing to engage in activism for Green Grunwaldzki Square. Applications are accepted until December 15, 2022.

What do we offer?

We have a series of free and very interesting meetings ahead of us about the greening and reconstruction of the intersection of Benedyktyńska, Górnickiego, Grunwaldzka, and Ładna streets – we want to present you with a preliminary concept for the development of this intersection, talk about the idea developed this year for making this part of the estate a more pleasant and accessible place, and above all, listen to your opinions on the needs and expectations of the local community.

What will we work on together?

Our goal and the final outcome of our neighborhood working group's work will be a project to reconstruct the aforementioned intersection as part of the Wrocław Participatory Budget in 2023. By joining our group, you will learn more about ecology and the impact of climate on your functioning in the city, about the Wrocław Participatory Budget and the opportunities this program creates, and you will also get to know and bond with students for whom Grunwald is an extremely important neighborhood!
