As part of the "Plac Grunwaldzki – An Untold Story" project, we are collecting stories about Grunwaldzki Square through the eyes of the estate's residents. We welcome your memories and personal stories related to Grunwald from 1940 to the present day. Those you have experienced yourself, those you heard from your grandparents, and even those you remember from archival photographs. Join us in completing the story of Grunwald!
Every day, we learn about the Plac Grunwaldzkiego estate – its residents, but also its history, which constantly surprises us. The construction of the toilet seats designed by Jadwiga Grabowska-Hawrylak, the formation of the academic community and the first post-war years of the university, and the opening of the "Goliat" trade tent and the marketplace on Skłodowska-Curie Street are among many important historical moments in Grunwald that have become etched into the local identity of the estate. Few people realize that most of these events would not have occurred if not for the mass demolition of residential and commercial buildings in the area of today's Grunwald Axis during the Festung Breslau era.

It's time to discover the untold story of Grunwaldzki Square, seen through the eyes of its residents. We're all ears and invite you to share your anecdotes, sentimental stories, and opinions about the history, character, and culture of our neighborhood from 1940 to the present day.
The interviews will be published on our website in tab, and in 2025 they will become the framework for the first estate zine, in which we plan to collect the most interesting stories and facts about the history of the Plac Grunwaldzki estate.
Who can participate in the open call for neighborhood stories?
If you remember the Goliath shopping tent, the iconic cream rolls, or perhaps you have memories passed down from your grandparents about the Szaberplatz (looting place), or the pre- and post-war realities faced by the residents of Grunwald, please contact us! Not only current residents of Grunwald can participate in these neighborhood stories, but also those who spent their childhood or youth in the neighborhood, or remember it from archival photographs and stories. We want to hear your perspective and your stories about this extraordinary neighborhood from 1940 to the present.
We accept interview applications in two ways:
