In cooperation with the Society of Creative Initiatives Ę and Pathway International, we are implementing a pilot project in Świdnica as part of the Social Patronage programme.
Community sponsorship is a model of refugee integration implemented worldwide. It involves groups of individuals providing temporary support to individuals with refugee or migrant experience who arrive in the community. Citizen groups provide support (emotional, financial, and practical) to help refugees establish a life in a new country.
Over 1,000,000 refugees have been included in social patronage programs in various countries around the world. Currently, a partnership of non-governmental organizations is working in Poland to test and adapt the model to Polish conditions.
As part of the program, we offer organized and thoughtful support for grassroots umbrella groups that help people with migration or refugee experience, selected under the program, in the process of becoming independent in their new place of life – in Świdnica.
Under the program, umbrella groups will provide support in the following areas:
- access to the labor market;
- access to education;
- language support;
- access to health care;
- administrative support;
- material support;
- basic living needs;
- socio-cultural integration.
Become a social patron in Świdnica!
We invite those who would like to join us in this endeavor and create their own umbrella group or become part of one. Your task will be to support a selected individual or family for a period of six months – from December 2024 to May 2025.
To apply to participate in the program, please complete the form: https://forms.gle/gHDLAE19b3g3Wr537
Throughout this time, you will have the support of animators from the Ładne Historie Foundation and the Migrant Club, as well as from district and municipal institutions: Department of Health and Social Affairs of the District Office in Świdnica, the Świdnica City Hall, the Świdnica Employment Office, the Municipal Social Welfare Center, and the Świdnica Volunteer Center. Together, we want to create a friendly, supportive environment and a welcoming atmosphere for those for whom Świdnica is a new opportunity for life.
The umbrella group supports a person or family with experience of forced migration in the following areas:
- Accommodation - assistance in finding permanent housing, including searching for offers, negotiations with landlords and support with formalities.
