Collective, selfless actions have power and meaning! We saw this on November 9th, when a charity book fair was held at Branch No. 22 of the Tadeusz Różewicz Municipal Public Library in Wrocław. All proceeds will go to support the Żelazno Cultural and Library Center, which requires urgent and very specific assistance due to this year's flooding.

The Żelazno Library and Cultural Center has become the heart of this small town's cultural and social life over the past three years. It was here that children first discovered the world of books, and adults developed their interests by meeting for workshops and events. The September flood destroyed not only the building but also a vast collection of books, which had been passionately gathered for the local community. As you know, at the Ładne Historie Foundation, our heart is in Lower Silesia and we want to support unique places located in our region, especially those of great significance to its residents.
Today, we'd like to extend our sincere thanks to the teams at the Tadeusz Różewicz Municipal Public Library in Wrocław, the Wrocław Agglomeration, and the Nowy Pafawag Cultural Center for your solidarity, immense commitment, and incredible energy, which made it possible to organize a book fair for the CBK in Żelazno last week. On November 9th, thanks to the work of many people – librarians, volunteers, and coordinators, especially Branch No. 22 on Chociebuska Street, which hosted us – we managed to raise PLN 9,876 in cash and another PLN 469 directly through a fundraiser! We would like to thank everyone who traveled to Nowy Dwór on November 9th and decided to purchase literary bricks for the reconstruction of the CBK in Żelazno.

Helping those affected by the floods in Lower Silesia will be a multi-year endeavor, but initiatives like the last fair reassure us that, together with you, we will be able to repair the damage caused by the disaster, step by step. Remember, if you weren't able to make it to Chociebuska Street last week, you can still help! Share the fundraiser for CBK or donate – as much as you can; any amount helps! https://zrzutka.pl/43ggwb. Together we can save the dreams of many people!
An additional attraction of the fair was a conversation during which Ms. Barbara Sadurska and Mr. Maciej Płaza tested each other on their knowledge of each other’s work. The conversation is available on the Rozczytana FB profile..
