We continually strive to meet your expectations. We know you enjoy artistic and creative activities, but we also appreciate the importance of architecture in the neighborhood's identity. That's why, in September and October, we've planned three workshops and a photography exhibition dedicated to modernist projects in Grunwald. This is all thanks to a new project we'll be implementing at Grunwaldzki Square this fall in collaboration with the Wrocław Center for Culture and Art.

The toilet seats, Crayon and Pencil, Chemistry Auditorium, and Scientist's House are among several of the more important architectural examples in the Plac Grunwaldzki estate. They are recognizable both in Wrocław and nationwide. We pass them on our way to work, school, or university, while shopping, or strolling. For many of you, these modernist architectural designs are an expression of our neighborhood's identity. We're not surprised! The architecture surrounding us creates the fabric of Grunwald, commemorating the history and tradition embodied in the buildings around us.

Inspired by local architecture, we've prepared a new project for you, in which the modernist projects at Grunwaldzki Square will take center stage. This fall, we're hosting three creative workshops and a photography exhibition, showcasing architectural icons through the lens of photographers who have collaborated with us since the Center's inception. During these planned activities, we'll experiment with shapes and volumes, commemorate Grunwald's architectural gems on clothing, and admire photographs by Marta Sobala, Marcin Szczygieł, and Anna Pazdej.

The "Traces of Grunwald Architecture" project is being implemented thanks to funding from the Wrocław Culture and Art Centre as part of the "Culture and Art Estates. Lower Silesian Artists in Wrocław Estates" program.

What actions can you expect?

  • screen printing workshops with Zuza Tokarska, which will take place on September 23 during the Plac Grunwaldzki Estate Council picnic;
  • cyanotype workshops with Marta Sobala and archicollage workshops with Marlena Szeliga (7.10);
  • a photography exhibition by local artists presenting photos of modernist architecture in the Plac Grunwaldzki housing estate (7.10).
