It's time to announce the next installment of the "Plac Grunwaldzki – An Untold Story" project. This time, we encourage you to participate in a workshop inspired by former German tenement houses that partially survived the Festung Breslau and post-war neglect and demolition. The tenement facades and their decorative elements will be our starting point for collaborative creative work using linocut – one of the most engaging printmaking techniques.

Where did the idea for this type of training come from? We've been looking since April of last year. „"untold stories" related to Kaiserstrasse (today's Plac Grunwaldzki Street), whose buildings were demolished during the Siege of Breslau to make way for an airport runway for German troops. After Breslau's surrender, today's Plac Grunwaldzki became a "great void," filled by successive generations of architects. Most of Wrocław's estates, which to some extent survived the siege of the fortress city, were filled for years with empty plots of land left by German developments or tenement houses awaiting better times. Today, some of these have been restored and delight tourists visiting our city.

March 5, 2024, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM We invite you to our center, where, under the guidance of Majka Dokudowicz, you will use the inspiration found in the stone to create graphic works. The classes can accommodate a maximum of 12 adults, who, thanks to the instructor, will learn the secrets of linocut. We will provide all the necessary materials and equipment.
