We are proud to once again be able to implement activities for children and young people from Ukraine who, due to the war, have found a new home in Wrocław, are studying in Wrocław schools, or are using distance learning. The program is aimed at children living in the Plac Grunwaldzki housing estate.
Ahead of us, a spring full of exciting meetings and artistic workshops awaits. We're thrilled to be able to share our entertainment expertise and collaborate with educators and staff from Wrocław's educational institutions. There will be plenty of healthy entertainment, as we know perfectly well that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body!
Activities carried out as part of the "Under the Wrocław UNICEF Umbrella" project are carried out for the children of our Children and Youth Development and Activity Centre and the youngest residents of the SEZAM temporary shelter, which we neighbour on Grunwaldzki Square.
The project is financed from funds received in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and will last until the end of May 2023.
The activities we carry out are necessary
The support includes caring for children and young people during their free time outside of school by organizing various activities that support their interests, active leisure activities, and integration. It also includes cultural adventures, such as visits to museums and other inspiring institutions in the city. Each meeting provides an opportunity to practice Polish in everyday life. Planned activities also include activities that support families and communities by fostering good relationships.
Project objectives
The most important aspect of our activities is the opportunity to be together and build relationships. Furthermore, we want participants to be able to cope with stress, listen to and respect each other, and to develop their strengths through participation in the activities.
We deeply believe in the potential of every child. We want childhood and early adolescence to be brightened by smiles as often as possible.
We will report on the course of action on our social media.
The project is operated by the Umbrella Foundation for the Support of Non-Governmental Organizations. The project was implemented with support from UNICEF. The project is implemented as part of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) based on the Memorandum of Understanding between the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the City of Wrocław dated June 9, 2022, and the Letters of Exchange for the provision of support related to emergency refugee response in Wrocław dated June 9, 2022.
