Want to work with young people in a way that doesn't involve sitting behind a desk? Are you good at listening, building relationships, and being there without judgment? Join the BLISKO Streetworking program team in Świdnica.
Fundacja Ładne Historie, in collaboration with the City of Świdnica, is launching a new youth street work program. We want to create a team of people in Świdnica who will reach young people where they actually spend their time – in courtyards, squares, housing estates, recreational areas, near train stations, shopping malls, and other urban spaces.
Streetworking is based primarily on presence, relationship and trust. We don't wait for a young person to come to an institution for help. We reach out to them, get to know their environment, talk, support them, and when the need arises, we help them access appropriate support.
The program is aimed primarily at young people aged 13-21, including young people who are outside traditional forms of support and are particularly vulnerable to risky behavior.
Who are we looking for?
We invite persons over 19 years of age, who have experience in working with youth or social activities.
We especially welcome students and graduates of psychology, pedagogy, social work, resocialization, sociology and other social studies, as well as animators, educators, tutors, instructors, people active in social organizations, volunteers and informal youth initiatives.
We do not require prior experience in street work. What is more important to us is experience in working with young people, ease of establishing contact, openness, attentiveness, responsibility and willingness to learn.
We are looking for people who can build relationships without judgment or moralizing, are independent but work well in a team, are able to maintain boundaries when interacting with young people, and are willing to work in the field, including in the afternoon and early evening.
What will the work involve?
Street workers will work in urban spaces, reaching out to places where young people gather. Their tasks will include establishing contact and building relationships, conducting supportive conversations, identifying young people's needs, conducting simple preventative and educational activities, responding to risky behaviors, and—if necessary—assisting in accessing specialized support. Depending on the needs of the young people, street workers will also be able to initiate small-scale animation and integration activities and encourage young people to engage in safe and enriching activities.
We will prepare you for work
Before and during the program we provide training in preparation for street work, including building first contact, relationship work, boundaries and safety, addiction prevention, risky behaviors, and responding to crisis situations. The team will also use regular supervision and support from the program's substantive supervisor. We have also planned a study visit to Wrocław, during which we will learn from youth street work practitioners.
Terms of cooperation
- Place: Świdnica – work primarily in urban spaces
- Form of cooperation: contract of mandate
- Rate: 100 PLN gross/hour.
- Period of cooperation: Fall 2026, field activities until December 20, 2026
- Work: mainly in the afternoon and early evening, according to the established schedule.
The project involves a total of 160 hours of street work. We will be working with three people.
