The 15th edition of the "Wrocław Health Promotion Days" is behind us, bringing together over 1,500 participants from various parts of Wrocław. The event took place on September 7th in the space in front of Magnolia Park, which ensured convenient access and high attendance. This year's edition, organized by the Department of Health and Social Affairs The city of Wrocław in cooperation with the Ładne Historie Foundation, is part of a campaign aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, health prevention and integration of the local community.

WDPZ 2024 featured a wide range of activities and attractions that addressed the needs of the city's residents. On-site, we offered free preventive health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, blood tests, and dietary consultations. Specialists in fields such as psychology, dentistry, physiotherapy, and addiction prevention were available at numerous stands, providing health advice. The event's diverse program also included sports and relaxation activities, educational workshops, and first aid demonstrations. Thanks to these activities, Wrocław residents not only better understood the importance of healthy habits but also took the first steps towards implementing them.

One of the most important outcomes of the event was raising the health awareness of participants. Through various activities, such as lectures, workshops, and demonstrations, Wrocław residents could learn more about the benefits of regular physical activity, a balanced diet, mental health, and the importance of preventive health checkups. Particular attention was paid to lifestyle diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as topics related to coping with stress and addiction.

This year's event was attended by people of all ages, from children to seniors, demonstrating the versatility of the program. Thanks to the event's open format, many people who, for various reasons—financial, time-sensitive, or lack of knowledge—have limited access to healthcare were able to take advantage of available tests and consultations at their convenience (the event's preventative program ran from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).

The family-friendly and open nature of WDPZ 2024 fostered social integration. The event became a meeting place for people from various districts of the city, from downtown neighborhoods to more remote areas such as Gądów and Pilczyce. Participants had the opportunity not only to take care of their health but also to make new friends and strengthen neighborly relationships. The positive atmosphere and rich program of activities – from children's entertainment to creative workshops – made the event attractive for entire families.

WDPZ 2024 was completely free and open to everyone. Thanks to its convenient location and collaboration with partners, we were able to provide access to a wide range of activities without prior registration. We paid particular attention to accessibility for people with disabilities – for example, during the film screening, we provided audio description for those with visual impairments. Such initiatives not only respond to the needs of residents but also implement the priorities of the City of Wrocław's social policy, which assumes equal access to services and support for all social groups.
