This year's edition of Cinema on Blankets gathered four times in different parts of Świdnica to watch films outdoors and spend summer evenings together. A total of 380 people participated – further proof that outdoor cinema is needed and that residents enjoy gathering for culture close to home.

  • June 26 – Central Park – „Baltic” – 140 people
  • 22/07 – Zarzecze Estate – „Behind the Blue Door” – 80 people
  • July 29th – Central Park – „Losing Balance” – 40 people
  • August 12th – Osiedle Młodych – „Where Do Dreams Come From” – 120 people

Each of these evenings had a slightly different feel, but they all had one thing in common: a shared gathering in a space that normally serves a completely different purpose. For a few hours, a park, a neighborhood, or a city space would transform into a small cinema, with blankets, deck chairs, and a shared film viewing providing an opportunity for neighborly gatherings.

We believe that events like these are more than just a film screening. They're an opportunity to strengthen neighborhood bonds, build community, and create spaces where people can simply be together. Sharing the experience of culture in everyday urban spaces also makes it more relatable and accessible.

That's why, for us, Cinema on Blankets isn't just about film screenings, but also about creating a city that's open, welcoming, and full of encounters. We're thrilled to once again take cinema beyond the traditional auditorium and meet you where you live every day.

Thank you to everyone who was with us during this year's shows. We would like to express our special thanks to the Wrocław Film Foundation for their cooperation and to Electrolux for supporting our screenings.
