In October, Wrocław will become a meeting place for individuals and organizations working at the intersection of culture, social action, and solidarity. An international networking event, organized as part of the Culture Helps Solidarity program, will be held at the Centrum na Przedmieście from October 21st to 23rd. The local partner is Fundacja Ładne Historie.
Culture Helps Solidarity is an international program supporting Ukrainian cultural and arts professionals in sustaining creativity, resilience, and social connections during times of war and in the face of reconstruction. The program combines three grant tracks with mentoring, learning, experience sharing, and building an international collaborative community.
Over 50 people representing non-governmental organizations, public institutions, and social initiatives from Ukraine and other European countries will come to Wrocław. These will primarily be individuals implementing joint projects under Collaboration Grants, as well as the program's team and partners. For many participants, this will be their first opportunity to meet in person after weeks of collaboration conducted primarily online.

The meeting will be a space to discuss ongoing projects, share experiences, and develop new relationships. An important part of the program will also be exploring Wrocław and its local cultural scene, as well as meetings with individuals and organizations operating in the city.
We want this to be more than just another conference filled with presentations and formal networking. The program was designed as a multi-day process, with room for collaborative work, conversation, getting to know each other, and relaxation. Creating a welcoming and safe space for those working daily in Ukraine and operating within the realities of war is particularly important.

The main meeting space will be the Centrum na Przedmieście (Local Activity Center) in Przedmieście Oławskie, run by the Lower Silesian Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations. Created in partnership with the local community, this space is open to dialogue, collaboration, social and cultural activities, and the building of local partnerships. This space aligns well with the Culture Helps Solidarity philosophy: instead of a traditional conference center, participants will work in a space where collaboration, integration, and strengthening of local communities are a daily part of the process.
Fundacja Ładne Historie is responsible for the local production of the event, mentoring participants, and co-creating its Wrocław program. We also want to use this opportunity to connect the international Culture Helps Solidarity community with the organizations, places, and individuals that make up the local social and cultural environment.
Culture Helps Solidarity is a project co-financed by the European Union under the Creative Europe program and implemented by the European Cultural Foundation in Amsterdam, Insha Osvita in Kyiv, ZUS in Berlin, and the VETERANKA Movement in Kyiv. The program runs from October 2025 to March 2028.
