Dear volunteers!

We are pleased to invite you to a training course on assisting the visually impaired. We are collaborating with our long-time friends at the Katarynka Foundation to organize this training. This training provides a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the intricacies of support for people with visual impairments and develop the skills necessary to provide effective assistance and support.

This color photograph shows blind people on an audio-described tour. They stop at a stone sculpture and touch it while listening to the guide's description.

What is an assistantship?

This is a form of assistance provided to people with various disabilities. The goal is to facilitate their daily activities and function in society. For blind individuals, assistance may include support with mobility, reading, writing, communication, and other daily activities.

Do you know how blind people function?

How do they perceive space and move? Do they go to the cinema and theater? If you don't know the answers to these questions but would like to find out, our workshop is for you!

During the workshop pWe'll learn the basics of assisting a blind person in navigating. We'll learn how to communicate and interact with a visually impaired person. We'll also learn the basics and tips for audio description—that is, describing the visual world—to those who are blind.
