Plac Grunwaldzki is our favorite neighborhood in Wrocław. Our team has been here for another year, and each new season is filled with new things. We're meeting new neighbors in the area, more organizations and informal groups are getting involved in our activities, and we're seeing more and more new faces at the events our team organizes. We're deeply motivated by your commitment and support, and our conversations with you inspire us to continue our work and development.
The approaching end of the year is a time for reflection, but also for giving thanks to you. The center we run thrives thanks to you and the energy you share with us. We spend time together and get to know each other better, tell stories and share memories, make plans, discuss the needs of our neighbors, consult and seek solutions, discover the identity and history of the neighborhood, and motivate each other to action. The neighborhood community is very diverse, but we are united by the extraordinary neighborhood where we live, work, learn, grow, and spend the autumn of our lives.

In 2023, as part of various projects and activities implemented in collaboration with the local community and the "Nasz Grunwald" partnership, we organized, among others, 13 walks around the estate, 37 workshops for adults, a multi-day Święto Osiedla, 1,264 hours of remedial classes, 936 hours of regular classes for children and youth, one exhibition of modernist architecture photography, and a number of meetings and events with the local community. Our seniors trained weekly with Rafał Czapliński throughout the year and also participated in memory training. The Local Activity Center was open five days a week for at least five hours (which amounts to 1,250 hours annually), but we often met with you after 5:00 PM – for activities including board games, walks and outdoor events, picnics, and backyard meetings. As part of the Wrocław Participatory Budget, we submitted two projects for our estate and implemented the first professional campaign for the WBO. We supported your initiatives not only within the WBO, but also Microgrants. Together with you, we visited cultural institutions, playgrounds, and amusement parks, and in December, we managed to gather a group of seniors to go on a sightseeing trip to Wałbrzych!

Working locally, we develop and utilize many of our competencies – we animate and integrate, explore and define local identity, and network and strengthen local communities. To ensure the high quality of our work, we implement numerous projects and raise funds for a wide range of activities involving people of all ages and with diverse needs. You know us by one name, but it encompasses many processes!
„"Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA" is a center within which we implement several different permanent programs. These include:. Local Activity Center conducted as part of the Wrocław CAL model thanks to financing from the Wrocław Municipality (www.wroclaw.pl), Center for the Development and Activity of Children and Youth, which we implement as part of the program of the Department of Health and Social Affairs of the Municipality of Wrocław, "„A housing estate for art”, i.e. a project implemented under the co-financing of the Municipality of Wrocław (www.wroclaw.pl). Our team is a leader in local partnerships "„Nasz Grunwald”, we cooperate with the Wrocław Social Cooperative, implementing the substantive program of the Skłodowska-Curie Centre for Non-Governmental Organizations, and this year we started implementing the project "„Plac Grunwaldzki – The Untold Story”, which we are implementing as part of the EVZ Foundation program. As part of the "Under the Wrocław Umbrella" program, we cooperated with The Umbrella Foundation, organizing a series of workshops and trips for children from Ukraine, and providing them with an intercultural assistant. We also collaborate with the Estate Council, supporting councilors in implementing their activities and promoting issues important to the estate.
This year our activities for seniors were also supported by Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, and thanks to cooperation with The Centre of Culture and Art in Wrocław we held our first exhibition in our center. 2023 will also bring a major campaign around the Wrocław Citizens' Budget, which we developed and implemented as part of the two-year project "„Citizen Workshop – Green Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA”, which we implemented thanks to financing from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway from the EEA Grants as part of Active Citizens Programme – Regional Fund. In 2023, we also launched the project "The Power of Community in Action – Development of Multigenerational Volunteering at the Ładne Historie Foundation," which supports and develops the social capital built by our volunteers! This project is financed by National Institute of Freedom – Centre for the Development of Civil Society as part of the „Solidarity Corps – Government Programme for the Support and Development of Long-Term Volunteering for 2018-2030”.

We are working hard to ensure our center continues to grow, becoming a space and driver for positive change at Grunwaldzki Square year after year. We don't do this alone! We collaborate with the business sector, which supports our activities, including:. pwc, which supported financially a series of activities for the Ukrainian community and donated Christmas parcels for the seniors of the estate or Pasaż Grunwaldzki, which supports us in production and financially in organizing events (and the WBO campaign), the network Tradition and Quality and entities such as On Lemon. In December, we successfully completed two charity events for seniors – #ŁadneMorsy and a partnership with Drogerie DM.
