Today we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Ładne Historie Foundation. We would like to thank everyone who has been working with children and young people since 2016, creating meeting places, supporting local communities, and expanding access to culture and respite in Lower Silesia.
Fundacja Ładne Historie was founded in the backyards of Świdnica, inspired by the need to integrate, animate, and strengthen relationships. Back then, our focus was primarily on the youngest; today, we work collaboratively with children and young people, local communities, families of people with disabilities, and the broader community of people who want to change the world for the better – non-governmental organizations, institutions, local government units, and business partners. A decade has passed in the blink of an eye, but our most important goals and values remain the same: we want the world around us to be filled with joy and people who, like us, believe in the power of community.

For the past ten years, Ładne Historie (Nice Stories) has developed in Świdnica, then in Wrocław, on mountain trails, and elsewhere in Lower Silesia. Our activities encompass culture and education, animation, social archiving, and respite tourism. We work with children, young people, and local communities. We support caregivers, ensuring they have the space to share their own experiences. We provide respite and enable contact with culture and art. We help residents realize their own ideas, explore their surroundings, and influence what happens there. Interpersonal bonds and mutual trust, forged through shared activities, conversations, and encounters—both unexpected and less so—are crucial to us. Despite the passage of time, we remain curious about people and passionate about changing the world together.

We care for the urban fabric and utilize its resources. A key part of this work is creating spaces to which people can regularly return. In Wrocław, we run the Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA Local Activity Center, and in September, we opened a new location nearby, the All Children's Center in Ołbin. The next step will be the opening of the Youth Center in Świdnica – a space that will be shaped together with us by young residents of the city where it all began for us. Launching this space with them is the next step after jointly developing and preparing for the Świdnica Youth Year.

We love being close to you! We actively implement our programs beyond the walls of our facilities: in Świdnica, we spend holidays with children and young people in their backyards; in Wrocław, we animate entire Plac Grunwaldzki housing estates by looking under every stone; and as part of the "Łączą nas gór" (Góry Connects Us) program, we conquer the Sudetes peaks and support people with disabilities and their families in achieving further successes.

Over the years, we've met many people, institutions, and organizations with whom we hope to collaborate long-term. We actively co-create the SCAL Wrocław network, the Świdnica for the Young group, run the Nasz Grunwald local partnership, and are involved in a number of industry groups (including Even More Social Economy in Wrocław). We are the founding organization and leader of the National Respite Tourism Network. Each of these initiatives focuses on different issues, but in all of them, sharing experiences, supporting each other, and jointly seeking viable solutions are crucial. These relationships allow us to better respond to the needs of local communities, create conditions for respite, and strengthen the voice of young people in their city's affairs.

Many Beautiful Stories are created thanks to volunteers who share their time, skills, and energy with us. These include individuals who engage individually, as well as entire employee teams who learn about our activities through corporate volunteering. Working together provides an opportunity to meet people with diverse experiences, better understand the needs of others, and see how much we can accomplish together. This is also how we develop our relationships with businesses – seeking shared goals and ideas to which each party can contribute. Collaboration between social organizations, companies, and public institutions allows us to combine knowledge, resources, and diverse perspectives, and over time, build lasting partnerships.

Finally, we want to thank all of you – the people who create Ładne Historie today and those who have been with us on earlier stages of this journey. Our team, participants, volunteers, partners, donors, and friends of the Foundation. For your daily work, trust, shared ideas, and support when the world around us becomes more complicated. For coming back to us, inviting others, telling us what's important to you, and helping us do things better. We are delighted to see how much we've experienced and created together. It's good to celebrate this tenth anniversary knowing that we have so many loved ones around us.
See you in the next Pretty Stories!
