The third edition of the Plac Grunwaldzki Neighborhood Festival is upon us! The week-long celebration will last from May 30th to June 4th. The local partnership "Nasz Grunwald" invites you to join the celebration.

 

For the third year in a row, we've been celebrating Grunwald – our favorite neighborhood in Wrocław. The first neighborhood meetings as part of the Neighborhood Festival, initiated by the "Nasz Grunwald" partnership, took place in 2021, but time flies! We've prepared a week full of attractions that will surely appeal not only to the youngest residents, but also to adults and seniors.

Let's rediscover Plac Grunwaldzki together by walking and listening to stories about the history of this area of Śródmieście, participating in pottery workshops, and attending a neighborhood picnic. This is a unique opportunity to better understand our neighborhood and spend quality time with friends and neighbors.

 

All events are free to attend. Registration is required for some.

 

Programme of events during the Neighbourhood Festival:

  • May 30, 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – detective escape room at the Municipal Public Library – branch no. 29
    REGISTRATION: Applications are accepted via email to: mbp29@biblioteka.wroc.pl or by phone: +48 71 326 60 63
    WHERE: Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna – filia nr 29, ul. Reja 1. Participants will take on the role of real detectives and uncover the mystery of books disappearing from the library. To solve this mystery, they will tackle 12 tasks requiring logical and creative thinking, as well as collaboration. After solving the tasks, they will receive a password, which is the solution.

    This event is for children ages 6-13. The escape room will be held in two age groups:

    • Group I: children aged 6-9, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
    • Group II: children aged 10-13, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
  • May 31, 4:00 PM – Outdoor Ceramic Picnic with Zakwas Studio
    REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENT IS CLOSED
    WHERE: Irena Sendler Square between Curie-Skłodowska, Łukasiewicza, and Smoluchowskiego Streets / in case of inclement weather, the workshop will be held on-site at Zakwas Studio at 40/1B Szczytnicka Street. The outdoor activity season has begun! Meet us at Irena Sendler Square for an outdoor ceramics workshop. Using two types of clay, we will create our own vessel, flowerpot, or figurine using basic ceramic techniques. Each participant will return home with a handmade item.

    The workshops are open to all interested people, regardless of age, including children from 6 years of age.

  • June 1, 5:30 p.m. – walk "Grunwald Kaleidoscope — the past and present history of the estate" with Maciej Wlazło
    REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENT IS CLOSED
    COLLECTIONAdolf Maria Bocheński Square at the intersection of Szczytnicka, Miła, Piwna, and Sępa Szarzyńskiego Streets. We invite you on a unique walk around Grunwaldzki Square, where our guide, Maciej Wlazło, will share the turbulent history of the estate. Through surviving buildings and details, we'll reminisce about its past and present appearance. Renowned architects and fascinating residents have given this place its importance and character. During the walk, we'll share the past and present history of Grunwaldzki Square, while the buildings we pass, the accounts of former residents, and the small details we encounter along the way will serve as a backdrop for our conversation, providing a starting point for a story about the multicultural, multireligious, and rich heritage of Breslau/Wrocław. Join us and discover the secrets of this unique neighborhood!

  • June 3, 4:00 PM – Family Neighborhood Picnic at the Grunwaldzki Campus
    REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THE EVENTS
    WHERE: Grunwaldzki Campus (the area between Szczytnicka, Wyszyńskiego, Joliot-Curie, and Polaka streets) Let's meet in the meadow and celebrate the partnership and community we create together at Grunwaldzki Square. We'll spend Saturday afternoon with creative workshops, discussions about the neighborhood, and refreshments prepared by local restaurants. Three zones await you on-site:

    • CREATIVE – workshops for children: „Let’s make a circus”, „Birds”, „Plaster prints from nature”; family workshops on making flower bombs; intergenerational workshops „Give a second life to an old book” as well as animations and active games for children.
    • HOME – bicycle repair point; neighborhood table; cream puff point; wheel of fortune.
    • NEIGHBORHOOD – consultation point „Citizen Workshop – Green Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA” around the Wrocław Citizens„ Budget, research point ”Plac Grunwaldzki – an untold story”
  • June 4, 4:00 p.m. – concert of the "Grunwald" choir„
    REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THE EVENTS
    WHERE: Klub u Piasta, Benedyktyńska 15 (1st floor)Święto Osiedla Plac Grunwaldzki 2023 will end on a musical note. The "Grunwald" Senior Choir of the Plac Grunwaldzki Estate Council, under the baton of conductor Marcin Grzywaczewski, invites you to the "Moja Matko ja jestem" concert. This amateur group, which has been regularly rehearsing in the Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA space for over a year, will perform well-known and beloved songs dedicated to mothers.

Who are we and why do we make Święto Osiedla?

 

The Plac Grunwaldzki Estate Festival in Wrocław is organized by the local partnership "Nasz Grunwald." Our activities are aimed at the development and integration of residents, creating a friendly living environment. We are an association of non-governmental organizations, public institutions, the private sector, social initiatives, and the academic community. Together, we organize events and engage in issues important to our neighbors. Our strength lies in our informality and openness to the needs of the estate's residents.

 

The "Nasz Grunwald" partnership includes many entities, such as Fundacja Ładne Historie (partnership leader), Uniwersytet Wrocławski (Biuro ds. odpowiedzialności społecznej UWr), Fandom, Fundacja Dom Polonijny, Fundacja Green Gaya, Fundacja Fabryka Sensu, Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna – filia nr 29, the Municipal Social Welfare Center, Odra Centrum, Pasaż Grunwaldzki, Rada Osiedla Plac Grunwaldzki, Radio LUZ, Soroptimist International Klub Wratislavia, Spółdzielnia Socjalna Zakwas, Primary School No. 84, Wrocławskie Koło Towarzystwa Pomocy im. św. Brata Alberta,, Wrocławska Spółdzielnia Socjalna, and Zespół Placówek Opiekuńczo-Wychowawczych „Dziecięcy Dom”. Each of us contributes our expertise and agency to achieve a common goal – the development of Grunwald and the integration of its residents. Celebration of the Neighborhood Day 2023

The third edition of the Feast of the Plac Grunwaldzki Neighborhood Day is ahead of us! The week-long celebrations will last from May 30th to June 4th. The local partnership "Nasz Grunwald" invites everyone to celebrate together.

 

For the third year, on the occasion of the holiday, we celebrate Grunwald, our favorite neighborhood in Wrocaw. The first neighborhood meetings as part of Neighborhood Day, initiated by the „Nasz Grunwald” partnership, took place in 2021—how fast time flies! We have prepared a week full of attractions for you, which will certainly interest not only the youngest residents but also adults and seniors.

The senior choir "Grunwald" at the Plac Grunwaldzki District Council under the baton of conductor Marcin Grzywaczewski, invites you to the concert "Moja Matko ja pozna" (My Mother, I Know). This amateur group, which has been meeting for rehearsals in the Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA space for over a year, will perform well-known and beloved songs dedicated to mothers.

The Plac Grunwaldzki Neighborhood Day in Wrocław is organized by the local partnership "Nasz Grunwald". Our actions aim to develop and integrate residents, creating a friendly environment for living. We are an association of non-governmental organizations, public institutions, private sector, social initiatives, and academic communities. Together, we organize events and engage in important matters for our neighbors. Our strength lies in our informal character and openness to the needs of residents.

 

The "Nasz Grunwald" partnership includes many entities such as the "Ładne Historie" Foundation (leader of the partnership), University of Wrocław (Office for Social Responsibility), Fandom, Polonia House Foundation, Green Gaya Foundation, Fabryka Sensu Foundation, Municipal Public Library – branch no. 29, Municipal Social Welfare Center, Odra Centrum, Grunwaldzki Passage, Plac Grunwaldzki Residents Council, Radio LUZ, Soroptimist International Club Wratislavia, Zakwas Social Cooperative, Wrocław Branch of the Society of Saint Brother Albert, Wrocławska Social Cooperative, Children's Home Care and Education Center.
