What do downtown neighborhoods look like through the eyes of children and young people? What's worth capturing, drawing, describing, or turning into a collage? This summer, we'll work together to answer these questions as part of the project "WSPÓŁTWORZYMY: Artistic Zine in Wrocław's Śródmieście.".
Throughout the summer, we will invite children and young people from Ołbin, Grunwaldzki Square, and the surrounding area to creatively explore their immediate surroundings. The starting point will be a walk through the neighborhood, during which young participants will observe the streets, courtyards, greenery, architecture, and everyday life of the city center. The collected photographs, sketches, notes, and ideas will serve as inspiration for subsequent workshops on illustration, collage, photography, and the basics of graphic design and independent publishing practices.

The result of this collaborative effort will be a self-published zine—a small artistic publication prepared by the project participants. It will be a collection of personal perspectives on the city center, told through images, text, and photography. Young participants will learn about the entire process of creating a publication—from the initial idea, through design and layout, to printing.
The project responds to the need to create free, accessible, and local cultural education activities. We believe that engaging with art shouldn't be something celebratory or reserved solely for cultural institutions. We want to demonstrate that creativity can stem from everyday experiences, and that our immediate surroundings are full of stories worth telling in our own language.

The project will culminate in an open meeting featuring the premiere of an artistic zine and a presentation of selected works by participants. The publication will be available free of charge in a limited edition during the event and at the All Children's Center, which opens in September at 39–41 Górnickiego Street in Wrocław's Śródmieście district.
Detailed information about recruitment and workshop dates will be published soon on our website and social media. Participation in all four events will be free, but will require a parent or legal guardian to register the child.
The project "WE CREATE TOGETHER: an artistic zine in Wrocław's Śródmieście district" is financed by the Municipality of Wrocław (www.wroclaw.pl) and implemented by the Ładne Historie Foundation.
