Seniors are an incredibly important part of the community around the Ładne Historie Foundation. We work with seniors both in Świdnica (in collaboration with the local University of the Third Age) and in Wrocław, where, as part of the Local Activity Center Plac Grunwaldzki OD NOWA, we run regular activities for people aged 60+. Our team has strong ties to this group, and we look forward to every joint initiative, continually expanding our group of dedicated individuals.

We have some very good news regarding our plans for 2024! Thanks to a grant from the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, we can develop a program of activities engaging seniors in both cities in the coming months. We are thrilled that, thanks to the implementation of the "Beautiful Stories of Lower Silesian Seniors" project, as part of the "Lower Silesian Academy of Senior Competences," we will expand our offerings for the 60+ community and enable more people to benefit from a program of activities and meetings tailored to their needs.

We have 92 events, totaling 186 hours, taking place in two Lower Silesian cities – Świdnica and Wrocław. The program addresses the needs of older adults, who often experience loneliness and report a lack of dedicated activities. The project aims not only to increase the activity of seniors, but also to help them acquire new skills and competencies. We want to show you that older adults have a high level of engagement and can lead active lifestyles (as we, as a team, have repeatedly demonstrated while working with them on several different projects).

As part of the project, we will organize regular exercise classes, memory training, digital and media literacy activities, preventative activities, and meetings of the Grunwald Choir, which was initiated by one of Wrocław's seniors. In both cities, project activities will strengthen and expand our existing initiatives – the Intercultural Café in Świdnica and the Local Activity Center in Wrocław.

The planned activities will contribute to improving the social situation of seniors living in Świdnica and Wrocław, activating people aged 60+ and strengthening this group's competences, skills, and physical and intellectual fitness. Implementation of the project will foster health-promoting attitudes among participants, expand their knowledge and skills in the digital environment (and thus increase their online safety). Participating in the activities will also enable lonely people to meet others, which in turn will help combat loneliness, isolation, and exclusion, and foster integration and building strong communities within this age group.

We will announce a detailed class schedule soon!
